Credit
Card Use and the Internet

The debit card is fast becoming one of the favorite ways of consumers to pay for point of sale purchases. "These cards are growing in popularity," says a recent study conducted by the American Bankers Association. 82% of consumers in this recent study use the debit card from time to time, and 50% use it regularly at the check-out stands. Credit cards are growing in use. In the not so distant past, use of credit cards to charge low valued items was regarded as a poor sign of economic health. |
|
That thought has changed due to the incentive created by reward programs, but also due to internet marketing which relies on credit card transactions. Trust is slowly building by consumers that it is safe to use their credit or debit card on the net. It is vital that anyone attempting to conduct business on the net first build a solid marketing and advertising program that deals with the trust issue head-on, rather than attempt to tap dance around it. |
